The weekend that was not [What I had thought!]

This weekend has gone by in a pretty fun way, to the extent that I am all charged up to tackle the week ahead! [Yeah imagine these words, that too from ME!] Went for the IPL match between Chennai Super Kings and the Kolkata Knightriders. Needless to say, the Super Kings prevailed and well, the bongs went back defeated! 8)

This was the first time I had ever watched a cricket match in a stadium, it was an AWESOME Experience. I remember watching the mexican wave on TV, yesterday I was actually a part of it!! 😀 The chants of ‘Dhoni! Dhoni!’ and ‘Hayden! Hayden!’ filled and echoes through the stadium. The cheerleaders of the super kings were in full enthusiasm and dancing away to glory, whereas the firang cheerleaders from the Knight Riders were just sitting around! Shahrukh, you might want to re-recruit a cheer leading squad!

VS

The prematch performance was very very very below average. I honestly wonder why people make a big deal out of mirchi suchi! She SUCKS live! I was actually waiting for those people to stop singing! [Or is braying, the right term?] Went for a movie with Ma, the most predicatable one being ‘U me aur hum’. It is kind of obvious that Ajay Devgan has tried a ‘Taare Zameen Par’ style movie with Alzheimer’s disease. It is all senti, and if you are taking you mom along, I recommend a box of tissues to be taken along. The songs in the movie are pretty good. My favorite is ‘Paheli jaisa sayyan’ . But a good effort. Sadly the age shows on both their faces. It really does! And plus, they have gone overboard in including their love for anything spanish, including a lot of time focussed on salsa, and also ‘Jee le’ having a strong latin-y sound.

But it is a better than average flick, if you can ignore the fake graphics, in the movie 😛

Break the cycle

Filed under: Poetry — Teal @ 4:36 pm

The storm rages on, wars wage on
She was left with nothing to carry on
cornered to a nook and forsaken
All joy from her life, taken

Back to the start, right to square one
Where this vicious cycle had begun
Back to the start where she’d erred
and now she’s nothing,but a prisoner

The cage door started creaking
The pillars of hope started breaking
She’s numb with shock and glum
What all was done, now undone

The dents of the damage done
will stay on the mould forever on
Now it was in her hands, left loose
The path that she had to choose

She took a fistful of sand
and vowed herself to a stand
“I will break this cycle
I will confront the evil, I will tackle”

“What have I got to lose?
No worries about fitting into another’s shoes
No foundation or past to build over
No scope for a base, or makeover”

“Will not care about the lost time
I am still in my prime
Will achieve my goals, will win
and then the new cycle will begin”

No fall is too permanant for me
For I will rise
And when I do
I will take the world by surprise.

Looks like April is going to be the month of TAGS! So Here I am, tagged by Senor BRAT, yet again 😉 and since I am always up for any tag challenge, here I go at it again!

1. Last movie you saw in a theater?
A tamil movie called ‘Velli thirai’ which is supposed to be a remake of a malayalam movie called ‘Udhyanannu Tharam’, except that this was not even a wee bit funny, and some songs made good hearing from this movie. [G.V. Prakash, need I say more? 🙂 ]

My Karmic count

As a kid I’d thought,”What would I be?”
when i turn twenty three?
Will I be rich, will I be free?
Will I be grinning perennially with glee?

Wil I be famous, a celebrity?
Will I walk red carpets, whilst others scream?
Will I blow kisses in the air, and smile?
While people stand in lines, for miles?

Will I sing , and will the world hear?
Will the vox populi hold me dear?
Will I go on tour and spread delight?
Or will I laugh at my then state, and plight?

Will I be smart, will I shine?
Will I be blessed by the all pervading divine?
Will I grow strong , will I be bold
or break down distraught , and fold?

Will I be popular, will I be pretty?
Will I be considered capable and witty?
Or will they crash down on me, like a hawk….
Grinding me like stored flour , in stock?

Will I be honest and true, and virtuous?
Will I be deep, insightful and not superfluous?
Will my frankness be considered my asset?
Or dig me a grave, in my dissent?

Will my hard work go unnoticed, in vain
Will I stay stagnant, gather moss in pain
Will I hold back defiance, against evil?
Or will I fight for what’s right and not restrain?

Will I stay unfrayed in the face of injustice
Will I struggle through the odds, will I make it?
Will this under dog crawl through the dark tunnels
Onto the greener pastures and the oasis?

Now I look back on my childhood, and I smile
not a happy one, and i say this wistful rhyme
I guess it all had depended on a factor, called time
and bad karma will ensue, for all crime
