International Women’s Day Tag!!!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Teal @ 4:55 pm

hey people, the tag fever is back…
Only this time i have been tagged by Kuttichuvaru. For International Women’s Day. I have been asked to write about the one woman i admire the most.
Call it cliched, cheesy or done to death, I definitely admire my Mom the most! She actually was born and brought up in a rural gramam, or village – yet she is the epitome of the average indian working woman. Contributing to the family in ways i cannot even count!!! She rulez simply because of the following reasons :

  • She was the first woman to get a college degree from her district.
  • She rebelled against marraige immeadeately after school [which was a clear eventuality for girls in her generation].
  • Although she hails from humble background, she was able to adapt to the morden ways of today.
  • She took great care of 5 siblings from a very young age … and still does.
  • She has been the pillar of strength of our family – the rock solid foundation. She took us through the hardest of times.
  • Her faith in god and her never-say-die spirit moves me in ways i cannot explain …
  • Despite her work, she never ignores her domestic duties and is the world’s best MOM.
  • She inspires me by example, driving me to make something out of myself in my own ways.
  • She instills great faith and confidence in me, even when I doubt my own talents, she’s always by my side – my own cheerleader 🙂
  • Her calm and cool approach to everything – all kinds of issues.
  • The way she retailates to any kind of wrong-doing that may be happening around her.
  • For being my best friend and closest confidant..
  • In her own special way, she reiterates the fact that nothing in this world is impossible.

Favorite Dishes: ???
Whatever my mom makes is amrutham to me!!! And we cook a lot together, so it’s great fun.

Dislikes:
She can be a l’ll stuck in the past sometimes.
She pampers me too much :-O

Since Women’s Day is almost done, I am sparing all my blogbuds of the tag.
But if there is a woman who has inspired to an extent that my mom inspires me, I think a post is in order, although it would definitely be a trifle of a tribute.

The Chorus from ‘I Turn to you’ by Christina Aguilera is most apt for this post.

For a shield from the storm
For a friend,
For a love to keep me safe and warm,
I turn to you
For the strength to be strong,
For the will to carry on
For everything you do
For everything that’s true,
I turn to you … “

Happy Women’s Day to all u galz Out there … WE rule!!! B-)

  6. It is a wonderful dedication to your mom and I would have accepted this any given day.

    WE rule — duh!!!
    >> I have been hearing about mothers day, fathers day.. even 2 days back i got a sms wishing ‘worlds bestfriend day’. And yesterday womens day.. gimme a break!! I haven’t heard anything like a mens day and I don’t want one either. Girls/Women are entities who complete a man. And, so are we! Can’t imagine a world where a kid has two fathers and no mother and two mothers and no father. And the whole idea of celebrating a day which was started by goddamn greeting card company sounds ridiculous to me. There are a few people in my life who have made me what I am today and I certainly don’t have to identify a special day to tell them that I care.
